| Introduction | The purpose of the volunteer action at CRY is to mobilize and allow the public to transform work together. People will act together to question power equations which violate the rights of the most deprived children. The public (privileged section) and its power to bring about change • They can considerably influence the socio- economic and political spheres. • They play a crucial role in building and shaping public opinion • They are present in the media, government and other important institutions. The CRY volunteers come from all walks of life, who are passionate about changing the situation of the child, who can spare time and skills for different activities and who are committed to change. Being a volunteer doesn’t necessarily mean doing something large or heavy-weight. It can be as simple as drafting a letter, finding facts, organizing workshops, meeting authorities or even bringing awareness through creative medium (theater, songs, painting and photography). |
