| Introduction | I became a tour guide (and amateur historian) after I got my first pair of in-line skates in the mid 90s. First I realized how small the island actually is. Then it became a fascination to decode the historical layers of this urban puzzle. Every part of town tells its own story, through the myriad re-purposing of buildings, to streets that defy the grid, to the hills and valleys barely detectable in the asphalt. Unlocking that information is why I started this blog. |
