Introduction | Comfortably leaning back after 30 yrs of planning in Botswana and 15 yrs in Stockholm City Planning Dept. Enjoying writing and discussing town and village planning from a different angle (culture and tradition). Will fill my blog with essays on projects for interested friends to read (and discuss with me) - kind of personal open archives, so to say. But maps, photos, layouts (often in colours) are heavy stuff to download. So, I will try and create links to click, where it can be studied in details (as soon as I know how to do it). I will start with Sowa Town, a kind of professional peak job and it will be followed by others (e.g. Gaborone, Francistown and Lobatse extensions as well as village ( or traditional towns) upgraing and expansion. Articles and papers on planning, economics and politics I have produced over years will be presented in a blog I have still to consider how to make (and come up with sorting concept). I'm not happy that I've opened this "homepage" already. A simple mishit by an index finger did that - but bear with me - at least Sowa Town planning history is knocked down and maps scanned. So it can be presented within short. See you then - JW |
