| Introduction | This blog is based on my rather quixotic, yet fun endeavors to run at least one organized running event in every county of Maryland (including one in Baltimore City) before the year 2007 is out. God blessed me on Saturday, September 15 this year by helping me finish the North Beach 5K in Calvert County, Maryland, where I finished this goal!!! I want to glorify God with this gift of and passion for running that He gave me. I want to live and reflect His Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself so that God could see me, a sinner undeserving of God's grace, presented blameless in the perfection of Jesus. I know I am far from perfect on my own, but I hope you can see more of Christ working miracles through my running and life in general, and less of me as I blog. I feel like for me running is a way for me to help connect with God and I can see how He works through running, and He certainly helps me run well even when I do not believe that I can. It is not about me and running, though I experience God and His mercy in it, and I want to share it. everyone is welcome to read and post here. Lately I have really been enjoying Steven Curtis Chapman, MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Jamie Jamogochian, Bebo Norman, Rebecca St. James, Meredith Andrews, Hillsong. |
| Favorite books | The Bible - It tells me how much I truly have and gets me closer to God! I also enjoy fantasy novels, my fave author in the genre is Niel Hancock with his "Atlanton Journals". The Sea of Silence, was probably one of my favorites of his. I also like Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, J.K. Rowling, Richard Pini and his ,Elfquest, stuff, Michael Scott Rohan with his ,The Winter of the World, series. I also enjoy John Steinbeck, (his, Travels with Charlie, may have helped in some small way inspire me to go some distance on this goal), Nicholas Sparks, some William Shakespeare. Of course, I'll enjoy a lotta literature on running and fitness, video/computer game instruction manuals and "Berenstein Bears" books... However, this section made me realize I haven't had much time for reading since I've become focused on this goal, haha! |
