| Introduction | I am God's work in progress. I am many things, but I wear no labels. My proudest accomplishment is the rearing of two lovely and accomplished daughters, who have collectively bore me three grandsons. I believe life is good no matter what, and everything is as it should be. My faith is strong that I am living God's plan for my life, although at times I do not like the plan. I continue to do the footwork, no matter how clumsily, and leave the results to the Universe. Professionally, I have a total of 20 years in the field of home healthcare nursing and five years as a counselor working with troubled teens. I attended Central Piedmont Community College for Practical Nursing and graduated in 1974. In 1994 I graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a BA in African and African-American Studies and a minor in Anthropology. In 2002 I again graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a MA in Counseling. I am licensed as a practical nurse in the states of NC and GA. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Professional Counselor in NC. I currently reside in GA and hope to return to NC in 2012 to open a private counseling and coaching practice. |
