| Introduction | I grew up in Baltimore with many happy memories. It’s sad to see this Historical city lose it’s charm because of deterioration and crime. It will probably take many years to make a difference. My old neighborhood in west Baltimore is too dangerous to walk through. There was a time when I thought I would never leave the city because of all it’s convenience. If you didn’t have a car you could ride a street car. Going down town was always a great pleasure. There were large Department stores, theaters and museums. Where I lived you could walk to the zoo, movie theater and a roller rink. |
| Interests | The Visionary Art Museum is located in south Baltimore next to the harbor and very near an old residential neighborhood. I hadn’t seen this section for many years. The museum was an interesting place with a new experience. The theme of the art was very dramatic. Each painting had a life’s story. Some of our family members have been there and were very impressed. Now we know why. |
| Favorite movies | I have always been proud that Fort Mc Henry was the birthplace of the Star Spangle Banner and Baltimore has a history from the revolutionary and civil wars. When the Prince of Wales, Edward, married a Baltimore divorcee there was a lot of excitement. That has all passed. Once in a while I have a repeated dream, I return to the city for a visit. I always end up in this wonderful neighborhood that is untouched by deterioration and crime. Everything looks well preserved and I can hear myself say I knew there was a special place in Baltimore like this; I must bring my sisters here. Then I wake up and wish it were true. |
