Introduction I'm originally from Warsaw, IL. I have one sister, Mary. My father passed away in 2005. Mom, Pauline, is 83 and thoroughly enjoys her dachshund, Paulie. Married John Damron, 6-83. I have 3 'children', Dave, who has 2 children, Madison and Noah, MY GRANDCHILDREN, Derek, 27 and Carleigh, 25. I have always tried to encourage those who felt unloved. This 'gift' helped fuel my love of teaching special education and working with the students in the Alternative program at OHS. Combining my love of travel and mission work has been a blessing! At this time, I have 'family' in China, Guatemala, Brazil and Uganda.
Interests my family, mission work, traveling, scrapbooking, reading, riding my bicycle, watching movies, baking and cooking, or going out to eat.
Favorite Movies Too many to mention. I did like "Slumdog Millionaire" because of the music and scenery of India. I'd love to do mission work there.
Favorite Music Anything from the 1960's! Or special music that Carleigh and Derek suggest. Recently, I have played a lot of country music because Mom was visiting me and that's what she likes!
Favorite Books I've read many books about Africa and China that I've enjoyed. "Three Cups of Tea", "1, 000 Splendid Suns", are also favorites. Also enjoyed, "AS WE FORGIVE" and "Picking Cotton". "There is No Me Without You" tells the life story of a woman in Ethiopia who starts an orphanage from her own loss of a child! Great book!!
