| Introduction | I am 26 years old. I enjoy playing guitar and reading. I am currently in love with learning the Greek language and understanding the scriptures in the original text. I can't wait to start Hebrew next year. Tabbethia spends a lot of her free time with our daughter and talking to friends on Facebook. She also enjoys learning about counseling techniques. |
| Interests | My Church life started when I was really young. Like so many other people I grew up in a Christian home and attended Stratford Baptist Church until I went to college. I was involved with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Group, and many other different activities throughout my church. As I got older I was on the Board of Christian Education and the Board of Missions. Up until I graduated High School I felt like I was on top of the world and it was the summer of 2002 when my life changed forever. I had just finished high school and was all set to start at the New York Institute of Technology in the fall where I would be studying Architecture. All of this changed when I went on a mission trip to this little Town called Nageezi on Route 550 between Albuquerque and Bloomfield New Mexico, on the Navajo Indian Reservation. On the reservation it is like you are in a whole new world, nowhere near the United States. Poverty is everywhere. It was a humbling experience for myself and I seen that there was more to life then my own selfish desires. I am not sure if I was a Christian before this point but at that time I learned what true grace meant. I have always compared my story to that of the Prodigal Son in the book of Luke. Like the son I was only interested in myself, I needed to be humbled, and finally I needed God to put me in my place. Sense that summer in 2002 I have earned my BA in Psychology and am working on my MDiv. I spent a year on the reservation as a missionary in 2004, met my wife in 2005 who is in the US Navy, moved to Japan and worked for the US government for almost 3 years, and now live in San Diego. I am the Youth Director for the First Baptist Church of Clairemont on Clairemont Mesa Blvd, just off the 52. |
