| Introduction | In less than three years - between 2009 and 2012 - my only child took her own life and my mother was killed in a devastating car accident. Somewhere in there, I also turned 50, quit my (fairly big) job and picked up a graduate degree. Before I had to live it, I would never have defined mourning as the practice of living boldly and without fear. After living with indescribable loss, I am learning to live into that definition. Despite not being quite 55 years old, my most recent adventure is to move across the country and into a 55 Plus Active Adult Community. We'll see how that goes! |
