Introduction In the 1960s I was painting abstract designs on wood.In 1969, I bought my first Pentax camera and enrolled in The Institute of Photography. In 1972, I was working at the Terminal Bar, across the street from the Port Authority in NYC. I must have taken thousands of photographs of the customers and environs. Some of my pictures were exhibited at The Museum of the City of New York. After being in the bar business for 10 years and shooting only B&W, I switched gears and started working at a photo color lab, During those 20 years there, Jesse James would be jealous, for I managed to surreptitiously print all my personal color photos that I was shooting at the time. I also started painting on picture frame mats, combining two medias: art and photography. The mats were painted and adorned with messages relevant to the respective image they framed. In 2002, my son Stefan, interviewed me about the Terminal Bar, scanned every photograph I took there, and created a short documentary called Terminal Bar. In 2003, it won 1st place in the short category at Sundance as well as many other international festivals. I'm still painting and taking pictures with the same 35mm camera.
