Introduction | The E stands for Emmet. I'm named after a famous Irish patriot, Robert Emmet. I've been collecting music since the 1950s (jazz, opera, pop), so obviously I have a lot of "oldies" in every category. The jazz tends to be fairly mainstream, i.e., no fusion, no free jazz. A good amount of Canadian content in jazz, opera (also "mainstream"), and other. I have been building my collection for a long time, so it includes many formats: 78s (anyone remember them?), vinyl LPs (about 200), cassettes (about 120), CDs (about 700) 45 EPs (about 40), 45 singles (about 60), (no 8-tracks!) and I've been creating my own compilations for a long time (over 250 personal cassette tapes). In fact, I have so much now that I have decided to buy maybe a dozen or so more CDs, then stop,(it's like an addiction!) and LISTEN to all this stuff a little more! In the next little while I hope to talk in some detail about what I have and like to listen to. |
