| Introduction | I was born in Liverpool a long time ago. I always felt that painting was my calling.This was a big dream of mine as I grew up.I suppose Dreams and reality are worlds apart but with a lot of heart and a bit of luck things can happen. I took an art foundation course but I realized that if I wanted to earn a living I had to change tack and took a fashion and design course instead.The fashion industry was tough, maybe I was'nt tough enough because around 12 years ago I fell ill. Somethimes out of difficuly great things happen I could paint to my hearts content, but not only was I painting again,it was great therapy. I have a lot of pain and fatigue which is helped through the meditation of painting.My chosen medium is water colour paint and pencils.Through glazing and delicate transparencies I can achieve depth and aspects of light,shade and atmosphere.My art aims to please and to help the viewer see the regular things that we miss with our hectic modern life. I strive to represent what I see as accurately and realistically as I can.I could not put into words the deep feelings of satisfaction and joy I receive from painting what I see in watercolour. |
