Introduction | In 2012, I spent 8 weeks in the USA on a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (WCMT) travel award to study the Lifestyle Redesign® concept developed by Dr Florence Clark and her research team at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. I wanted to investigate how this approach could be used to improve the hospital/home interface for older people. I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1990 and have worked in various physical settings with older people, including Day Hospital, rehabilitation and for many years in acute hospital. I have recently changed base to a community rehabilitation setting covering in-patients, Rehabilitation Day Unit and community rehab. Outside of work I enjoy a range of activities particularly being out and about in the countryside and socialising with friends and family. I like to be active and regularly go running, swimming, walking, do yoga and dancing, none of these to a very expert level! I started learning to kayak this year. I love travelling and visited India for the first time in January 2011. |

Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
The tooth fairy maybe. Really I think it's because chewing pennies makes your teeth fall out.
