| Introduction | BREATH AND MOVEMENT:BIRTHRIGHTS Conscious breathing, movement exploration, and the wellness field have been my teachers for 25 years. My dance of choice: The Linguini, a self choreographed piece that simultaneously engages all the hinges. The overall benefits of this exploration are far reaching. As a Licensed Massage Therapist for 24 years, I have incorporated both breath awareness and movement exploration into my practice.` My book, The Palette of Breath:Facts About Breathing,is being used by all generations. Knowing that the breath is a passageway into the present moment, and knowing that mind and heart can be monitored and nurtured by the breath is a teaching that is ancient. I am a CPE Provider for Texas Teachers and Administrators. I have studied movement exploration with Emilie Conrad and Continuum, the International Association of Creative Dance (Barbara Mettler), Deborah Hay, and Darla Johnson, and have for 14 years been a teacher and active participant in a dance/movement group that meets weekly at ZAZ, my studio. A video of our class is available and has been reviewed in Conscious Dancer Magazine's Spring 2010 edition. |
