| Introduction | For far too long, the public perception of marijuana in the United States was littered with the stigma that it creates higher rates of crime, poverty, and unemployment. This is because of a variety of factors and problems that I do not want to get into today. However, it is no secret that medical marijuana is finally becoming more recognized for what it is - a great alternative to harmful modern medicines and prescriptions, and a natural remedy to a large number of health conditions and diseases. In fact, marijuana has been used for medicinal purposes since the times of the first civilizations. The sad fact about the state of marijuana in the United States is that people are just simply unaware of how it could be helpful in treating their health conditions. In fact, many medical patients would highly benefit from using medical marijuana, but are either not educated about its uses or do not have access to it in their state. |
