Introduction	Born and reared in the Pacific Northwest, I transplanted to the "big city" when I outgrew my parent's best efforts. I figured I knew the best path to follow and I have been searching for it ever since. With every funeral I attend, I get closer to the top of the tree where the leaves whither and fall to the ground so my search grows more frantic as time marches on. I am open to suggestions.
Interests	Words, (specifically as used in creative writing), the Internet, music, the passage of time, tomorrow and yesterday, but mostly the moment.
Favorite movies	Somewhere in Time, What Dreams May Come, The Gentle Man, McLintock, Wake of the Red Witch, Father Goose.
Favorite music	Rock and Roll from the fifties to the seventies, big bands, traditional and Dixie Land Jazz.
Favorite books	The Oxford English Dictionary, The Hobbit Trilogy, Seize The Night, Fear Nothing, Small Comforts, The Deer On The Bicycle, Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Universe, and, of course, 1001 Ways to Utilize Duct Tape.

Which do you prefer and why: whittling with soap or whistling with wood?

I don't really know. I once whittled a knife out of wood, which I used to whittle a bar of soap into a whistle.
