| Introduction | [a blog about bucking the consumerist trend]
I have grown up alongside my anti-consumerist hero. My sister. While I spent time working after school so that I could spend money and time at the shops, she made do with what she had, what she wore, and how she spent her time. While I spent on my "look," surroundings and little world of possessions, she made sure - from year to year - that she could fit all she had and all she needed on her bike (and later in her car). My sister is my anti-consumerist hero. She is an anti-consumerist from birth. It runs in her veins. Her simple nature even paid her tribute at her wedding. She keeps it so simple that she has little to worry about. For instance, no credit card bills, no overspend-depression-episodes, no wanting what she hasn't got. A true hero. It is my sister's way of life through the years that has taught me the true value of anti-consumerism. In this blog, I try to stick to the path of anti-consumerism while watching my life grow simpler and simpler, holding on to the important things. The motto: Simplicity = Happiness Please join me! xx |
