| Introduction | I am the oldest child born to active Mormon parents who did their best to teach me gospel principles as I grew up. My experiences alienated me toward the Church, however, and my father and I were in constant conflict. A faithful friend and set of circumstances changed my heart, however, and I gained a powerful testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My life was also shaped by a sixth grade teacher who taught me how to learn. He taught me how to do library research and find the right people to ask questions. This prepared me for my lifetime vocation in family history and genealogy. Music and writing have also been critical in my life. I have also always had a learning project going on since that time. Because of that, my knowledge and interest have been varied and eclectic. I married at age 20 after a year of courtship. We raised five children, three of whom are still living, and we have nine grandchildren. |
