Introduction	I live in the beautiful East Clare hills in the west of Ireland with fellow blogger, BT The Crafty Gardener, and our dog and two cats. We have five acres of only partially-tamed land and spend most of our time managing the part we have brought under control and trying to clear and plant fresh areas. We live in a traditional stone farm cottage with walls three feet thick, probably built some time before 1830. We moved here 2 or 3 years ago from Sussex in England from a large house with a small garden - pretty well the reverse of what we have now. I used to be a technical writer, editor and publisher, mainly involved with trade and professional magazines - particularly for farmers and horticulturists. The great joy of being here is to be surrounded by plants - both cultivated and wild - and to discover new ones almost daily as we reclaim the land. That has inspired the blog.
