| Introduction | I am the youngest U.S. male ever to medal at a World Taekwondo Championships (1999), and I have medaled in three World Championships (2005, 2003 and 1999). My gold medal performance at the 2005 World Championships cemented my family in sports history, as my brother, Steven and sister, Diana also captured world titles at the same event, making us the first trio of siblings to win world championships in the same sport in the same year. I celebrated the accomplishment with my signature two back flips. I celebrated in a similar way on April 2008 when my sister, Diana and I earned our spot on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team with Steven becoming the first family to accomplish such a feat since 1904 and only the second family of all time. The icing on the cake is that my oldest brother Jean has been named the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Head Coach, a position he also held in 2004. |
