| Introduction | In 1976, my father traveled to Colombia, South America to help build a church. The stories of the people he met and the pictures of the places he visited captured my imagination. And I knew then I would someday experience the beauty of Colombia for myself. My father passed away in 1996. In 2005, I followed in his footsteps to Cali, Colombia to find the church he'd helped build and to volunteer my services with the construction of a nursing home. One day while I was working at the construction site, it became crystal clear why I had come to Cali. The construction of the nursing home could not continue without funding, and I could produce a documentary to raise awareness and funds to help make the facility - Hogar Samaria - a reality. Since that day, my friends, family and colleagues have stepped forward to make my mission THEIR mission. I hope you will join us, too. |
