Rebecca's Rooms

| Introduction | Rebecca’s Rooms is a Non-profit organization that was started by Reid and Cindy Carter. They have 2 daughters; Kayla and Rebecca that have a disability caused from a chromosome abnormality called Trisomy 13. Rebecca passed away in 2010 at the age of 8 years old and Reid and Cindy want to honor Rebecca’s memory through Rebecca’s Rooms. Reid and Cindy know the joys, struggles and challenges that come with raising disabled children. Rebecca was a very active and hyper girl and it was very important for her to have a room that was filled with the things that brought her joy and kept her busy and safe. Reid and Cindy spent countless hours improving Rebecca’s and Kayla’s rooms as they grew and their needs changed. Rebecca’s Rooms wants to provide disabled children with a newly remodeled and decorated room that will be customized to their personality and needs, because a child’s room should be fun, stimulating and even relaxing when needed. We will also work with the family to address other needs that child or family may have. Every child deserves a special place to call their own, and Rebecca’s Rooms and the many wonderful volunteers want to make that happen. |
