| Introduction | MIMLS is the professional body for the Medical Laboratory Practitioners in Malaysia. MIMLS was officially established on 31 December 1992 under the Company Act 1965, Section 16(4) with the registration No.254676 P. The founding members of this corporate body were the Institute of Medical and Health Laboratory Technology (IMHLT),the Malaysian Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists(MSMLT) and the National Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology(NIMLT), representing the MLT's from the MOH,UM and UKM respectively. It took more than 2 decades to transform these three seperate entities into a single body. At the international level MIMLS is a member of the ASEAN Association for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (AACLS) formerly known as The ASEAN Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists (AAMLT). MIMLS is one of the founder member of the Asia Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists(AAMLS). |
