| Introduction | Welcome! I have been studying themes of Mennonite history and thought for decades, and have also had opportunity to teach the same in high school and to teach 6 years at the Mennonite seminary in Switzerland. Since 2006 I have been a prof. of theology and now dean at the seminary of Tyndale University, Toronto. I grew up in Canada as a child of Mennonite immigrants and was deeply impacted by stories that included two waves of refugee resettlement in Paraguay, flight over Moscow, liberation and complicity with Nazi Germany, Mennonite Central Committee famine relief, the execution of a grandfather in the Stalin purge, and a grandmother who experienced all of that including revolution and more. In a few hundred blog posts--all written and tested--I will unfold the Russian Mennonite experiment at "being Mennonite" in times so very different than our own. Each post includes notes and links. While some will read to learn more about their story, there is so much more that is of universal interest and value as well.
