| Introduction | My primary interest is in theoretical lingistics, more specifically in generative grammar, founded by Noam Chomsky in the 1950s. What interests me most is the question:which aspects of language aquisition should be explained on the basis of rationalism(e.g.generative grammar), and which on the basis of empiricalism (e.g.cognitive linguistics)? The idea that one of the above two isms could fully explain the complex phenomenon of language aquisition is counter intuitive to me, as is, almost arguably, not the case with economics(neo classical school vs Keynesian). So, the above question arises. |
