IntroductionI've read several books this year that have inspired me to take a hard look at the way that my family and I interact with the world at large... and have made many adjustments to live in a more environmentally friendly manner. This year, I’ve been reminded of our interconnectedness to nature (The Sacred Balance: Rediscovering Our Place in Nature), I was introduced to our food supply, the good & bad through (The Omnivore’s Dilemma) and have been given an opportunity to MAKE CHANGES in the way that I view the world through my readings of (Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization) by Lester Brown. To date, my family and I have made the decision to recycle, have decided to support our local community through purchasing a “share” from the Peaceful Belly (an organic farm that produces produce for the local community), we have moved away from buying “industrial meat” and instead “went in on” local calves that will be pasture fed on a friends farm, and we are developing a geothermal greenhouse right in our backyard so that we can have local produce year-round.
