| Introduction | Born in Kalla family on 23rd Feb 1938, Smt. Suryakanta Vyas hails from Jodhpur. Her father, Late Shri Fatehraj ji Kalla was Police Inspector. She got married at an early age of 12 and her husband, Late Shri Uma shankar ji Vyas was supply officer. She joined RSS in 1960 & held a no. of honorable posts such as President of female wing, BJP. She volunteered arrest & went to Jail to protest against injustice during Doda Satyagraha Movement (1994). She also led the female wing for 'Ramjanma-bhumi' movement & went to Kashmir for 'Flag hoisting yatra' (1994). She contested election for the 1st time from Jodhpur city in 1990 & won their comprehensively twice. Following law of average, she lost once but the public of Jodhpur, in urge of development, supported her again in 2008. She is currently MLA from Soorsagar(Jodhpur). She has been honored a no. of times for rendering services for development of society. |
