| Introduction | Damien Valero summons the body through fragments created with mixed techniques: video, threedimensional models, digital photography and sound montage. He sets out an itinerary where one can wander around installations, scenes which bring to mind reconfigured sacred rituals: variations on the navel, hands and feet moulded around an imaginary banquet, an altar to Saint Agatha. The body also becomes an element of architecture. The artist draws the spectator into a reflection on the envelope, that which surrounds us, the walls of cities, the skin of things, the outer layer of being. By organising empty spaces, voids in representation, he incites the spectator to reinvent bodies of which there remain only fragments, breath, texts, postures, organic signs. www.damienvalero.com |
