| Introduction | i have been a journalist for over a decade now, writing and taking photographs first for american news agency united press international in the 1990s and now for agence france presse. as part of my advocacy, i also write and shoot for irin (www.irinnews.org), an independent news organization focusing on humanitarian news and analysis under the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. i have chronicled how the balance of the world's powers shift, taken a ride on rickety airplanes, had brunches with murderous mujahideens and rubbed elbows with some of the world's most interesting personalities. i have covered conflict zones from east timor and myanmar, to pakistan and sri lanka. i write about life, its dramas and joys, and how everyone and everything are interconnected. i am devoting this site to focus on my passions -- photography and writing. i have been married to ardyne angeles, a bank officer, for 15 years now and have three boys, aged 15, 14 and 4. all pictures are copyrighted and may not be used unless permission is secured. you may email me for assignments/comments or if you want to get permission to re-use published items. |
