About me

Introduction I am a proud mother of two sunny daughters, a grandmother to little Cora Snow and my Grandoggie, Gypsy. I am also a sister to Jodi, Mike and cherished surrogates as well as a daughter myself. This little place is like having a room of my own to be in my own skin and share a bit of womanly humanity. The encouragement for starting this blog belongs to my daughter Amanda and is inspired by a half century of meanderings, struggles, chance meetings and departures. Darkness and light have shaped my life in a similar way that they pepper days and seasons. I have loved to read and write since I was a little girl. Dr. Seuss is my hero because he and my father unknowingly taught me to read and love the rhythm and beauty of language. Amanda taught me the beauty of language performed on stage and Steffie taught me ways that a small phrase can say a whole lot. I am chatty, sometimes verbose and abstract, but always looking for a better way to put what is inside me on a page when I cannot speak it well.
