Introduction	I'm 61 years old. Forty of those years were spent fishing in Alaska for salmon, herring, crab, shrimp, and halibut. Most of my close family is still based out of Kodiak so I return frequently. I have built a house on the Oregon coast and am enjoying a break from frozen ground, slick roads, and disappointing gardens. I miss my Alaskan friends. I miss the work ethic, survival and endurance ability that so characterizes Alaskans. I am consoled with a few good friends in Ophir, long walks on the beach, bike rides up local canyons, or hours of weeding while listening to audio-books.
