| Introduction | My husband and I have an empty nest. We have always taken our children on as many trips as we could afford, which often meant either camping in a tent or staying with relatives. It is our belief that traveling makes people more open minded and well rounded. We have taken some traditional touristy trips along the way, and they were fun, but we really enjoy going off the beaten path a little bit. Now that it is just the two of us, we can forgo the tent more often, but our trips sometimes include a dog that is as big as and adult woman. When we travel, we like to eat where the locals eat, see sights that are not commercial, and travel during the off season to avoid crowds and cut costs. |
