Introduction	I have an undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University and a Master's degree (Elementary Education) from Salem College. I hold a NC K-6 teaching license and have previously taught in grades 1st through 5th. I currently work as a PRT (Primary Reading Teacher) for 1st and 2nd grades at Lewisville Elementary School. The 2010-2011 school year is my fifth year at Lewisville ES....what a great place to work! I worked in the airline industry for 10 years before becoming a teacher, thus I will often integrate geography and Social Studies concepts into my reading lessons. As I have done in the past, this year I will again be teaching the full scope of the Social Studies curriculum to both my classes. I do this through whole group activities, small reading groups, as well as through the use of our workbooks, other supplemental literature, and technology. I live in Winston-Salem with my husband and our two wonderful daughters. I am a native of Brevard, NC and grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina. I have lived in the triad for 15 years. I am absolutely crazy about horses!
