Introduction | Most of the time, I'm sitting here raising 2 sassy teens who know everything and a bossy toddler who has the attention span of a gnat. I'm picking out the gray hairs daily. Please send hair dye. In 2006, my already complicated life became more complicated when a large tumor was removed from my upper thigh. The tumor was a Sarcoma, a rare cancer for which mainstream treatment options are limited and few and I was propelled into a world of experimental therapies. I blog here about the mundane intermixed with the unthinkable and continue to work for remission while raising children as a single parent. |
Interests | I collect early 20th Century glassware and I have an unofficial coin collection. I REFUSE to admit I'm a Numismatist. I throw a 14 lb bowling ball into a gutter weekly. I read when no toddler is grabbing my book out of my hands. I'm a computer geek. When I have 5 minutes, I sometimes work on relearning all those years of piano lessons. I love talking politics..OOOO dangerous ground but YAY! to talk radio. Psychology, Volunteering, theater, Music and beer tastings are also on my vast list of interests. Not enough time in this life to learn it all but I'm giving it the college try. |
Favorite movies | Star Wars series, Indiana Jones series and yes, I'm eagerly anticipating Geriatric Jones coming to a theater near you soon. Also on my top picks: A Fish Called Wanda, Schindler's List, American History X, Glory, Funny Farm (bad review but I love it), the Pink Panther films, and The Sound of Music (Sappy but loveable) |
Favorite music | Old Rock, New Rock, Modern Rock, Rock Rock. Blues, Folk, Broadway, some Jazz including whatever my son and daughter turn out on their horns, some Classical, and a few country artists. |
Favorite books | Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. Wuthering Heights, Animal Farm and Song of Solomon. |
The wicked backspin caught you off guard. How will you play it off without losing your footing?
