| Introduction | I am a stay at home wife and mom of 4 children ranging from 4 years old to 17. I am also a full time college student. While currently earning a college degree, I hope to one day be a high school teacher and teach culinary, food prep, health and nutrition. One of my passions, besides coffee, is to cook healthy and organic for my family. I aspire to grow a garden this year to add fresh from my garden vegetables to my cooking. A close friend of mine who is a full time teacher and mom has inspired me to make the time to become a more sustainable earth friendly family. I try to live my life by reducing first, reusing next, and then recycling. While I choose to recycle I also buy recycled household goods (toilet paper, tin foil ect..), and use cloth grocery bags. I really believe that God created this earth to sustain humans and calls me to be a good steward of my temporary existence here. Psalm 24:1 says, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof." By eating healthy and living a more sustainable or "green" lifestyle I feel as though I am keeping balance and harmony, seeking in all things to grow closer to the joyous bounty that God has provided in his natural world. |
