Gender Male
Location Lafayette, Southwest Louisiana
Introduction Well, I'm a dad and granddad. That's why we moved back to Louisiana and Lafayette after a mistaken sojourn abroad: Two children and six grandchildren, all living in Lafayette. Being able to watch them grow up is a real gift. I've done a lot of different things in my life...from fry cook to carpenter to college professor. I'm happy to be living in Southwest Louisiana. I've lived elsewhere and just wasn't comfortable. The communities here are real and the people engaging. It's home. I spent about a decade out of school as a carpenter, and toward the end co-owned a small construction company. Most recently I taught college. My doctorate was in Education and my doctoral research was focused on neural net leaning theories and situated cognition. (Hey! I thought it was interesting.) I taught social studies (elementary and secondary) to prospective teachers in undergraduate classes and learning theory, curriculum theory, and the design/interface of web-based applications to graduate students. I remain interested in all that..and a heck of a lot more.
