Introduction I started this practice with a friend. We became virtual dinner partners when both of us were struggling with choices we were making around what we were eating and how much we were moving around... what the culture calls diet and exercise. Both of us were feeling lousy, favorite clothes weren't fitting, you know the story. The initial form (daily "diet sheet" and a rundown of activities that could be called "exercise") morphed and became a forum that included other forms of tracking...hours of sleep, vitamins being taken, periods starting. Thoughts and feelings started to show up...like dreams about climbing mountains followed by plans to do so. Everyday joys showed up, sorrows and frustrations too. We both started to feel better; eat better; walk, climb, run, bike more. I found this practice powerful. It required tremendous trust and in a sense opened me to a new frankness about who I am. It's deceptively simple, and feels incredibly complex.
