| Introduction | I was born in Düsseldorf (Germany) in 1965, grew up in Meerbusch and studied Chinese Literature, History and East Asian Politics in Cologne, Freiburg, Taipei and Bochum. After graduation in 1994 I moved to Taiwan with my Taiwanese wife. My book publications include The Greater China Factbook (2007, Taiwan Elite Press, Taipei) and Politicians in the Republic of China. Register and explanations (2013, self-published in Taipei). I see myself as liberal, secular, moderate, pro-democracy and pro-Taiwan, and I support the democratic system in today’s Taiwan as well as the right of the Taiwanese to self-determination. I oppose unification of Taiwan with an undemocratic China. |
