| Introduction | Please disregard any pretension that you may believe is implied in this persona. I have no interest in pretension. In fact, in the name of this lack of pretension, I will admit that my own views do change, though organically. In a very real sense, the therapy that this persona represents for me is an attempt at throwing new yet related ideas against the wall in order to see what sticks. So rather than pretension, I am interested in clarity - specifically, clarity about the phenomenon of human experience. Moreover, I am interested in what this sort of clarity entails that we ought to do, both as persons and as peoples. Finally, though more cryptically, this persona is a response to Wittgenstein's challenge: "Of what we cannot speak, we must be silent" (Tractatus, 7). So let us speak until silence stops us. |
