| Introduction | I was born in Gaffney, SC, to The Allison family in 1962. My parents took me to a southern baptist church at the age of 8. We became members of an Independent Baptist Church, in Blacksburg, SC, when I was 13 years old. In 1980, at the age of 18, I became very discontent with my life. That December, I met my husband. We got married December 31, 1980. He was in the Navy. We have always been a part of independent baptist churches. Even though we were not saved. In October 1981, we had our first child, a boy, and in November 1982, we had our second, a girl. In May 1985, after being apart most of the 4 years of our marriage, my husband decided to end his military career and save his family. :-) We moved to Ohio and stayed there until September 1987. We then moved to South Carolina and became members of the church I was raised in. Neither one of were saved at the time, but we played the part well. |
| Favorite movies | ABOUT ME CONTINUED...My husband began playing the bass for The Rochester family that year and we were in churches hearing the gospel more. The Lord began working in my husbands heart and he decided that He must be calling him to preach. Our pastor told him, "A call to preach is a call to prepare" and that he needed to go to college, so under the direction of the Lord he recommended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College. We moved to Greenville in 1988 and he began. In 1990 we moved to Laurens, SC, to work in Temple Baptist Church. My husband graduated from Tabernacle in 1991 (still unsaved as was I). In August of that year, the Lord started dealing with his heart about salvation and he accepted the call. The following year he surrendered to be a missionary and we left the greatest church in America with the greatest pastor, to go to Kentucky to start a church. While there the Lord began to work in my life but I still didn't see my need for salvation. |

In 1995, after much sadness, we decided that the people there didn't want a church, so we began planning to go back home to heal. During that time, the Lords burden for America was still on my husbands heart and thats when he wrote, "Who Will Go To America." We called our pastor and sang it to him on the phone, we cried, he cried and we headed home. My husband started back to work, we purchased a home and just served in our local church in Laurens. A few years went by and Bro. Ron Gearis came to our church. The Lord started dealing with Bret about the prisons, so after much prayer our pastor gave the go ahead for us to go with the ministry. In 2001, our children received Christ as their Saviour and so did I. I haven't doubted Him since. We left the in 2004 and placed our ministry under our local church as The BibleWay Prison Ministry. It has been trying at times, as we have lost half of our support! But we know that God is able. |
