| Introduction | Greetings! I am an American of Italian descent (grandparents were born in Italy) and I grew up around creative people, like my Mom (loved to paint), my Dad (a creative tool & die maker for GM) and my Aunt (creative dress-maker). Having lots of paints and fabrics around in my house, it got my creative juices flowing. Until I was 18 or so, I wanted to be a fashion designer. It didn't happen (finances), but I graduated college with a BA in Fine Arts/Visual Communications. I eventually became the graphics director for an engineering company, where I learned layout design and print. For Dow Jones, these skills transferred into desktop publishing and web front-end design. I call this "Information Design" -- and I have a passion for this work and I think I'm very good at it! |
