| Introduction | Dr Geer Mohammad Ishaq is working as Professor in Pharmacology at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, JK, India, where he has been working for the last twenty four years. He has been instrumental in designing and starting a post-graduate programme in Pharmacy Practice at his University and is presently in-charge of this programme. Dr Geer has also served as a Drug Control Officer with the Govt. of JK, India for a period of about three years prior to joining the Kashmir University. He holds a doctorate in Pharmacology and has research interests in Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Care, Drug Utilization Evaluation, Pharmaceutical Policy, Quality Control and Rational Use of Medicines. Prof. Geer has so far published 55 research articles besides more than 125 popular articles and presented more than 50 papers in various national and international conferences. He has reviewed and revised the premier drug policy in his home state of JK. Dr. Geer has delivered more than 200 extension lectures outside his department. Prof Geer is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, thinker, public speaker and policy contributor. |
