| Introduction | Born in the State of Oregon, I began working part time as a photographer with United Press International (UPI) during high school. I attended the University of Munich in Germany on a photographic scholarship and continued my higher education at Syracuse University in New York, obtaining a B.Sc. degree in PR. Joining the Peace Corps I was a Radio Supply Officer on the tropical island of Yap in the North Pacific. After the Peace Corp, I wound up in Vietnam as a combat photographer with UPI and NBC News and was wounded three times. I was a photographer in Singapore for 30 years and am a Past President of the Professional Photographers Association of Singapore. As a Liaison International photographer, I covered assignments for the New York Times Magazine, Forbes, Fortune, Time and Newsweek. My diverse leisure and social activities have included SCUBA diving, sky diving, open ocean sailing, jungle exploration, fishing and performing folk and country western music. Now residing in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I’m currently contributing stories and pictures about eco adventures in Sri Lanka to Serendib Magazine, other international publications and adventure travel websites. |
