IntroductionI worked 10 yrs Middle East OSP Engineer Turkey, Iran-Tehran, 1976-1979 largest telecommunication project in the world at that time financed by the World Bank; I worked international expatriates and local Kurds and was on the Pan Am flight 101 or 102 can’t recall flight number however as it turned out it was the last flight out of Tehran; of course we didn’t know it at the time; two days later the students took over the embassy finale time. When I hear [news media talk about war with Iran it makes my blood run cold] contemplating war with Iran is imprudent. Country of Iran is about the size of Alaska, Iranians think of themselves as Persian first; their not Arabic they speak Farsi; they are better educated, larger middle class; their infrastructures i.e., telecommunications, highways, bridges, underground systems, airports, hydropower, assuredly newer and more advanced than the US. Iranians were secular under the Shah and with all the protesting the country appears to be demanding more secular freedoms. Came back to the states didn’t work for several years had kids, got divorce then back to work as fiber engineer large Federal Projects; went back to school, network engineer.
