| Introduction | I don't particularly like talking about myself, I'm just like everybody else. I may not be a mathematical genius, but I am a master of fooling the eye. Painting, ceramics, design and visual concepts are as natural to me as breathing. My father was an engineer and an artist and always the perfect gentleman, elegant and charming. He taught me to see and understand color and texture and how to use objects in unconventional ways. My mother was the fixer-upper and could put Norm Abrams to shame with a circular saw. She was tall, fiery and had a hilarious quick, dry wit. So, what ever talent I have, I’ve come by honestly. I’m also very fortunate to be surrounded by a great group of talented, intelligent and hilariously funny women – they are a blessing to me and I’m grateful to have them in my life. Tim and I are complete opposites ( now the zodiacal signs have changed, he may become the artist and I the accountant – now isn’t that hysterical!). We don’t communicate in a language that either can understand most of the time. While working on this project especially, we just don’t get what the other is saying. I have no idea how our relationship works, but it does. |
