| Introduction | Born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Jasmine Nilani Joseph is a practising artist. She completed a bachelor’s degree in fine arts at the University of Jaffna in 2015. She has participated in many group exhibitions, including the Human Rights Arts Festival, 2017, Colombo; the Serendipity Arts Festival 2017, Goa; the Dhaka Art Summit, 2018, Bangladesh; the Colomboscope Arts Festival, 2019, Colombo; Manifesto for artists in a strong state, 2020, Germany; and as an artist on the rise, has also exhibited her works in galleries around Colombo and New Delhi. In 2019, she had her first solo exhibition at the Art Circle, University of Jaffna, and worked as an artist-in-residence at Pepper House in Kochi as organized by the Kochi Biennale foundation in 2020. Internationally, her works have collected by private collectors and has featured in the World Art And Memory Museum and her works has been published in leading international art related books and journals. The artist lives and works in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. |
