| Introduction | Hello! I have been an artist since I was a kid, and then became a Zen Buddhist monk in 1990. I studied Zen in monasteries upstate New York and in Japan. My painting comes from looking closely at nature and zen stories. I have illustrated two books: Zen by the Brush and A Taste of Heaven and Earth, a cookbook. My studio and zendo are in New York City. I really admire the work of Sengai, Paul Reps, and Hakuin. |
