Introduction | I am from Fayetteville, NC. I received a B.S. in Atmospheric Science in 2004, and a M.S. in Water Resources Science in 2006, both from the University of Kansas. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Wind Science and Engineering at Texas Tech University. I am currently employed by the Institute for Business and Home Safety in Richburg, SC, studying natural hazards and mitigation techniques. My primary research interests include remote-sensing damage detection, ground-based windstorm damage surveys, the use of the EF Scale, and hail impact testing. I am a seasoned damage investigator, completing damage surveys for numerous windstorms and for a wind-driven wildfire. I have participated in TTU field research efforts during Project MOBILE 2007-2008 and VORTEX2 2009-2010 and I am a member of the Texas Tech University Hurricane Research Team (TTUHRT), making StickNet deployments during the 2008-2009 Atlantic Hurricane Seasons. I have recently been appointed to the research faculty at TTU to continue my work with TTUHRT and I also serve as the “unofficial” media liaison for TTUHRT and the TTU VORTEX2 team. |
