| Introduction | I retired as a Professor of Geology at Texas A&M University on June 1, 2011, and 8 months later the "Admiral" also retired. We started cruising around the Great Loop on February 6, 2012, but after only 2 days, we were forced to return home due to a bad cylinder on one of our (two) main engines. Two months later, the engine was finished being repaired. We now plan to re-start the Great Loop in January, 2013. The route for the Great Loop is shown on the map on the sidebar. It is a trip of about 6,000 miles around the eastern half of the U.S. and takes 9+ months to complete... We hope to share many memories on this blog. |
