| Introduction | I am first of all a person who seeks to follow the pathway laid out for us all though Jesus Christ. In my case, that has led me into a career in biology. Initially trained as a research scientist, I began my career as a professor at Syracuse University where my primary research interest in the organization and function of genes led to a tenured position in Biology. However, my love for undergraduate teaching and growing Christian faith resulted in a move into a Christian college setting, primarily at Point Loma Nazarene University in San DIego where I am currently Professor Emeritus of Biology. I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a Bible teacher of a small group at my church. My theological perspective is thoroughly Wesleyan. I have written extensively for BioLogos, which together with a wonderful small group of colleagues under Francis Collins, I helped found and for which I served as president from 2009 through 2012. This blog is set up to serve as a companion to my YouTube channel, "Coming to Peace with Science with Darrel Falk." On that channel, I seek to address in "nutshell" form, key concepts at the interface between Christian faith and biology. |
